So Tired

About 6 weeks ago MaChel and I decided to start running a few times a week in the mornings before the kids were up. It can be really hard to get up in the mornings, but it gets me up and going for the day and I love our morning visits without the kiddos. We always send each other a text to make sure the other one is awake. This morning I was so incredibly tired, when my alarm went off Danny got up to go to the bathroom. I quickly sent the text and received this message back....yes I'm awake and I'm in your bathroom peeing, see you in a second. I had accidentally sent a text to Danny. If you didn't find this funny I guess you had to be there.

A Visit With Santa

Last night we went to the Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. Kind of a weird place for a visit with the big guy, but they have a really cute set up and free pics. Ben was ok just sitting by Santa and Sadie was up for anything. When Santa gave Ben his candy cane and asked him what he wanted for Christmas he said a Christmas Tree. We've had our tree for a couple weeks and he loves turning the lights on every morning and checking out all of the ornaments. It's getting a little dry so I hope it lasts until the big day! He didn't want to sit on Santa's lap, but he had no trouble jumping up on this thing.

The kids and Danny taking a shot at Uncle Zac ( Sorry Zac, you had to know this photo would end up here.)

Potty Trained!!

Yep, those are undies on Ben's little bum. I've always had a goal to have Ben potty trained by the time he was 2 1/2. We barely made it, but he did it!! Danny and I decided to buckle down and do a 3 day training method that my good friend MaChel had found. We started Saturday morning by putting all of Ben's diapers away and putting underwear on him. After spending the next day and a half together every second everything just clicked with him and he has been really solid ever since. He was rewarded with stickers he could put on his chart, peanut m & m's and several other prizes from us and his grandparents. I couldn't be more proud of Ben!! Way to go bud!

Loving Sadie

Ben has asked me a couple times if he can hold Sadie. I of course have been thrilled with this. He has really come around the last couple of weeks with her. He always gets her diapers and binki if she is crying, and he even held her hand the other day while we were watching a movie together. This kid is a great big brother!!

Baking Day

Over the weekend we did our annual holiday baking day. We made two of our traditional family treats, Scottish shortbread, and peanut brittle. Everything was going smooth until I started my first batch of peanut brittle. I am not great in the kitchen at all. My mom was helping me to judge when the candy was done cooking. She went to do something else for a minute and out of no where everything in the pot turned black and smoke was pouring out of it. The candy had obviously burned. I was put back on shortbread duty, but I felt terrible because I had ruined my mom's favorite pot. They cooked so many things in this and it has been in her kitchen forever.I guess I just got an idea for a Christmas gift this year.

Cold & Rainy

Chloe hates getting wet in the rain. It was super cold out today and when she finally had no choice but to go outside to potty she was shivering at the door. I felt sorry for her so I got her coat out for her. She looks adorable. Thanks to the kids she doesn't get dressed up hardly at all anymore, and I know she is grateful for that.

Ben's Gum

Ben is a total gum chewer just like me. He is super responsible with it and never takes it out of his mouth unless he is handing it to me to throw away. He has his favorite kinds and this is how he tells them apart. "Ben's gum" is Extra Polar Ice that he picked out himself at Costco. "Ma" gum is the new Trident Layers that grandma gave him, and just plain "gum" is the dark blue extra that we always have at home. It is so funny he asks for the one he feels like and tell us right away if we have given him the wrong one.
